ReveD Takahiro Lecture on Skid explanation [ English Version ]

Today is skid angle (^^ ♪

The skid angle is the tilt angle of the suspension arm!

First of all, the reverse skid is leaning forward with respect to the traveling direction

The forward skid is tilted backwards

Adjust the skid angle by putting spacers back and forth under the suspension mount

If you increase the number of positive skids, the rear kick will fall, but that much

It will be easier to stop sideways

* Rear toe angle is close to a little

If you increase the reverse skid. The kick out of the rear goes up, but if you raise it too much, the rear may suddenly slip out in the second half.

* Rear toe angle is close to large

The angle of the suspension arm should be checked in parallel with the skid angle

Spacer 0mm

Spacer 1mm

Spacer 2mm

If you install a suspension mount spacer to adjust the skid angle

As shown in the three figures, the angle of the suspension arm changes even at the same vehicle height.

What is the difference in running depending on the angle of the suspension arm? Say

① Banzai \ (^ o ^) / state

Suspension easily sinks and rolls easily!

Recommended for low grip roads

② Horizontal-(^ o ^)-state

It is harder to roll than in the Banzai state, but the leg movement is well balanced both vertically and horizontally.

Recommended for road surfaces with medium grip or higher such as black tiles and asphalt

③ Reverse Banzai / (^ o ^) \

When rolling, the legs are difficult to move and the rear can be pulled out suddenly. Not very suitable for drifting ... For the sake of explanation, I am exaggeratedly banzai, but please note that the angle of the suspension arm does not become like this even if you actually insert the 2mm suspension mount spacer. That's it for this week's lecture commentary! Next week, I'd like to talk about Upper Arms!
