Lecture explanation ④ Damper Podition 2/3
ReveD Takahiro talk about "damper angle"

ReveD Takahiro will explain from arouind 9 minutes 20 seconds in the first period at Team ReveD YouTube Video

The blue state is "the damper is sleeping"
The red state is "Damper is up"
It is in a state! !! !!
As you can see from the photograph, the mounting position on the suspension arm side is the same.
The mounting position (green / orange circle) on the shock tower side is different.
Since the mounting position on the suspension arm side is the same, the lever ratio does not change, so there is almost no difference in the hardness of the suspension.
Then I will explain the difference between sleeping and waking up
① When the damper is sleeping
By increasing the lateral grip and strengthening the foothold, it becomes easier to step on the accelerator during cornering.
However, vertical traction is impaired
② When the damper is up
Increased vertical traction makes it easier to move the machine forward. Recommended for linear layout
Lateral grip is damaged when the damper is sleeping

Also like this, if the damper angle is the same and the position is changed from blue to red In terms of damper characteristics, the suspension becomes hard when the lateral grip is strong, which gives the impression of the rear being deep inside the car while turning! !! However! !! Please note that the suspension may become too hard depending on the combination with the spring. Next time finally Damper Podition 3/3 About the suspension stroke This is an important item, so don't miss it! !! !! !!
